4Climateresilience provided advisory support to the Caribbean Biodiversity Fund (CBF) to strengthen and operationalize its Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS) across the ACE and EbA Facilities. The CBF’s ESMS, developed in 2023, ensures that funded grants and projects generate environmental and social benefits while minimizing and mitigating associated risks. This assignment focused on updating and enhancing the ESMS to support its practical implementation.

Key activities included developing user-friendly guidance materials for grantees on preparing Environmental and Social Management Plans, and delivering targeted capacity-building sessions for CBF staff and grantees through both virtual and in-person training. The work strengthened institutional oversight and improved the integration of safeguard requirements across funded initiatives.
